the whole day已经是时间状语了,“在”已经包含在里面了与last week ,this year ,this weekend在语法上是同一个概念,你不必担心.

enjoy是及物动词，既可以说enjoy oneself，也可以说enjoy sth. (a day, food，etc....)。这里enjoy接双宾语，也可以把enjoy oneself看成一个固定词组接宾语the whole day。因此不用加on，加了on虽不算错（on the whole day作状语），但不够符合英文习惯。

而本题中的是一整天，故不须加on
