The bacteria used in this experiment are collected from the heart, liver and lung of chicken suspected to be died from Escherichia coli in a chicken farm of Jinhua No. nine wharf. Results of the pathogenic bacteria validation identification, biochemical test, pathogenicity test and drug sensitivity test indicate that the pathogenic bacteria resulting in the pothogenesy in the chicken farm are the Escherichia coli, the bacterial strain has a strong pathogenicity, and has a strong resistance to the gentamycin, kanamycin, doxycycline, chloramphenicol and clindamycin. It suggests that there exists a drug-resisting pathogenic Escherichia coli in this chicken farm. It is therefore advised that the antibiotics should be used carefully in future production of table poultry, that sensitive drugs should be selected according to the results of drug sensitivity test in the treatment of colibacillosis using medicament, and that attention should be paid to alternate medicament and medication according to the treatment course.
