玄倚 的回答，这是金庸小说《书剑恩仇录》的英译版（Graham Earn ShawJohn译，John Minford校订），但这里绝不会是skulk，skulk不会这么用。skulk是个不及物动词，一般后面接about/around/in ect,不会直接跟个the boat,况且意思也不相符，skulk：to hide or move around secretly,especially when you are planning something bad.
