with the swinging feather and also ends up with it. It can mean so many things to so
many different people. Personally, it is a symbol of people＇s fate in the movie,
especially for Forrest.
In Forest Gump the feather is floating in a carefree manner, being carried
forward by the wind. Forest Gump is like the feather, he is somewhat carefree
because he is for all intents and purposes an idiot -albeit a lovable one.
Like the feather Forrest Gump is carried forward through life by events
outside of his control.
The swinging feather blows in the wind, touching there or here, and can land
to anywhere. Whether it can just come to you depends on whether you will and how you
deal with it.
In the beginning of the movie, Forrest picks up the swinging feather and stores it in
his book. It seems like that like picking up the feather, he can handle his life well. And
the truth is that he succeeds in it.
Forrest is always brave, pure, upright, and faithful to his love and friendship.
He is not scared no matter what he faces, even if his childhood is full of other＇s tease
because some problems with his legs that lead to his wrong walking. He is always holding
a pure heart to others whatever he has been smocked at and unfairly treated.
He is upright the whole life even if being set up. When he finds his previous
supervisor, Dan, he tries to pull him up and back to the normal life, while because of
his uneven and hatred to Forrest, Dan purposely aims to make Forrest sink into
woman＇s seduction, suffering the bad life like his. But Forrest never does it. And he
never changes his faith to Jenny whatever she has done. He also keeps his loyalty to
friendship with his best friend, also his close partner in battlefields. Even at the trial of
death, he does not abandon his friend.
That is the way he deals with his life, so he does not get lost in life and the fate is in
his own handle, optimistic and sunshine.
